Music that has inspired me, or reminds me of a particular character or scene. Underneath the player is a brief description of where the songs fit in, and what characters or scenes they are for. I'm a music junkie, so naturally, I had to have a playlist.
You'll Be In My Heart & Two Worlds = Both of these songs always put in mind images of family, and of being separated from your family, which I found fitted with my characters. Mostly for Destiny Of Three, but fits with other stories as well.
You Fight Me = This song is for the story The Jade Rabbit, and is an Adrian/Harm song. It fits with Harm trying to keep her feelings for Adrian under control, but finding that it's impossible for her to deny how she feels, no matter how hard she tries.
I'm Alive = Mostly a song for The Jade Rabbit, but also an Adrian song in general. Adrian doesn't want to be separated from the one he loves, nor is he willing to change the person he is, despite being told otherwise. This song really captures that for me.
What If = Another Jade Rabbit song, this one for Jaid's parents Ross and Chang'e. The song fits perfectly for the story of their relationship, and of Chang'e having to leave him, yet wondering how things could have been if they could have stayed together.
Empty Room = A song for Luke during Yule Time Dream. To me, it just seems to capture a sort of melancholy mood and the feeling of not wanting to leave those he loves, but wanting them to be happy and move on even if he does have to go.
End Of The World = The sound of this more than the lyrics is what I like about this one. It fits with the mood of the end of The Forgotten Realm and the start of Shadow Of Light. The repetition of "Its the end of the world" really fits in nicely too.
Headstrong = I love this song, and its a nice crazy battle theme for Shadow Of Light.
Alisha Rules The World = Obviously, this is a song for Alisha. The lyrics even fit with her personality. Perfect!
Only The Strong Survive = This one is for The Darkness Betrayed, and is a song for the Sons Of Darkness in general, as well as a bit of a betrayal song for Feurety.
Judith = Feurety's theme song for The Darkness Betrayed. It fits with him cutting down the mortals who are looking to their Lord for help that isn't always coming.
Tell Me Why = This is a Harmony song for Moments Of Change, expressing, more or less, her reaction to Adrian hitting her during an angry outburst. This song perfectly captures the feeling of Harm putting up with so much, but finally drawing the line and walking away.
Make This Go On Forever = This one is for Moments Of Change, and is for Adrian and Harm during Adrian's big breakdown moment. It just fits perfectly with how he's feeling, and how desperately he needs someone (namely Harm) to save him from what he's become.
Save You = This is one for Moments Of Change, and is mainly a Harmony song, but it can also work for Alisha, as the first verse reminds me of her. Mainly, it's Harmony wishing she knew how to help Adrian.
Hanging By A Moment = Luke and Jaid's wedding song for Wedding Bell Blues. More a Luke than a Jaid song, it puts in mind how far Luke has come leaving his own family, and how much Jaid means to him, having her become his family, and all that he needs.
So Close = Another Adrian/Harm song, and its a bit of a theme song for them dancing together at Luke's wedding. They are always so close to each other, and yet they just can't have that happy ending that they both so badly want.
We Belong Together = Alisha and Nuada's wedding song during Wedding Bell Blues. Originally this was an Adrian/Harm song, but I felt that it better suited Alisha/Nuada. The Celtic themes (it was the love song in the movie Tristan & Isolde) really fit with them as well.
Mine = Another Adrian song, this one fitting with the theme of never having the one thing you want, and to forever be wondering what would have happened if the two of them hadn't been chosen for the Trinity.
Bad Reputation = This song screamed Andraya at me, and so it is her theme. The rebellious teenager, who doesn't give a damn about what people think of her.
100 Years = This is Kyle's theme song during The Future Eternal, and it also really shows how fleeting a mortal life can be. Andraya can live forever, but Kyle only has roughly a hundred years. But for just a moment, when they're both teenagers, they can forget about that and stay together.
Could It Be = This is an Andraya/Tyler song, and it fits rather well with Andy finally noticing that Tyler has always been there for her, and always supported her, and her finally realising that perhaps she does feel something more towards him. This song is for the end of The Future Eternal.
Superman = This song is for Rian, during Darkness And Light, and perfectly captures his feelings during that time. He's still just a kid, yet he's supposed to be this super human sort of person. His life is so much more complicated than other immortals, and he wishes that he could just be a silly teenager.
How I Disappear & I'm Not Ok = The Mortal Fate inspiration tracks. Rian and Ellie tracks that just seem to sum up the situation they end up in, and the feelings that come out during that time. Angsty, but you get that with teenagers.
Once = This is an Ellie song during The Mortal Fate, but the song itself is more Rian singing about her. It gives the impression that he can see that she's suffering, and that she's lost who she was. Yet at the same time, he's not going to give up and walk away from her.
The Last Day On Earth = This is an Ellie song during The Mortal Fate. To me, it gives the idea that Ellie has been living in a sort of dream world, and now her last day has arrived when Rian finally comes back for her.
I'm Yours = This is a Rian/Ellie song during The Mortal Fate. I think that it perfectly captures both Rian's and Ellie's resolve, and the fact that, despite everything, they've managed to find their way back to each other. The song also hints at how some people are just drawn together by Fate, and that nothing can get in the way of that.
Forever Young = This song is a general theme song for the Trinity, and for the other immortals. It just captures the feeling of youth, and of holding on to it forever, which is exactly what they do.
