Trinity is a story that has been going on since 2003, and is a story heavily steeped in ancient mythology, yet it is set in the 21st century. It is a story (in my mind) more about the characters than about the plot, but that's not to say that there isn't a plot. Its just that there isn't one plot, but many smaller plots all wound together to form the whole book. As such, it is told in 10 individual stories that focus on individual events that make up the whole. I know that sounds confusing, but it's really not. Trinity started as a short-ish story, with more short-ish stories being added over time. That's just how it was, and how it forever will be.
Below is a list of who's who in the world of Trinity. But first, what is the Trinity itself? Well, it is a trio of immortals that have been chosen by the divine beings known as the First Light and the First Darkness. Two of these 3 are the physical representations of Light and Darkness, whilst a third person acts as the balancing force between the two, keeping them both even in their influence on the world at large. They are the trio who have the most power over the other immortals of the world. Below is a rather short summary of the main players in the series.
Harmony Torrens - Balance aspect of the Trinity. Australian.
Luke Halifax - Light aspect of the Trinity. Australian.
Adrian Douet - Dark aspect of the Trinity, twin brother to Alisha. French-Australian.
Alisha Douet - Demi-goddess of truth. Adrian's twin sister. French-Australian.
Jaid Patterson - Demi-goddess of illusion. Chinese-British.
Ross Patterson - Mortal man. Jaid's father. British.
Claire Douet - Mortal younger half-sister of Adrian and Alisha. French.
Andraya Torrens-Douet - Goddess of mischief and duality. Daughter of Adrian and Harmony. French-Australian.
Tyler Halifax - God of perception. Son of Luke and Jaid. Chinese-Australian-British.
Kyle Perrini - Mortal one-time boyfriend of Andraya, and best friend of Tyler's. British.
Rian Halifax-Douet - Heir of Light and Darkness. Son of Andraya and Tyler. French-British-Australian.
Imogen Douet - Goddess of prophecy, twin sister to Bryant. French-Australian-Celtic
Bryant Douet - God of justice, twin brother to Imogen. French-Australian-Celtic.
Ellie/Elouise Cooper - Mortal girl used as leverage against Rian by Fate. Australian.
Drifter - Demi-god in service to the Trinity.
Feurety - A fire god with a dangerous and hidden past.
Nuada - Celtic god of the Tuatha de Danann, who rescues Alisha.
Belial - Ancient evil demon who breaks free of his 2000 year imprisonment. Hebrew.
Mechiresa - A demon working for Belial, and an old rival of Feurety's.
01: Destiny Of Three
This story introduces us to the three main characters (Adrian, Luke and Harmony), and throws them into the immortal world. It is a story of drastic and unavoidable change, and is very coming of age in a sense. It involves a desperate race across the country as my characters are pursued by certain immortals that want them dead. My three main characters are mortal at this point in time, but will they stay that way?
02: The Jade Rabbit
This story introduces us to Jaid, and to the world of demi-gods, both mortal and immortal. It is also a story in which we get to see the Trinity at work, and in which problems arise for Adrian and Harmony. In contrast, Luke and Jaid develop a friendship.
03: Yule Time Dream
As the name suggests, this is a Christmas story that was originally written as a present for my readers. A twist in time allows the Trinity to spend Christmas with their mortal families (who, in the normal timeline, think they're dead) giving them a chance to seek closure on that part of their lives.
04: The Forgotten Realm
This is really part 1 of a significant arc in the story. Alisha lands herself in some trouble when she is involved in an accident, resulting in her meeting Nuada and awakening powers akin to a demi-goddess. At the same time, an ancient power starts to stir, and a war that was stopped 2000 years ago starts up again. Drifter's past comes to light as the Trinity face their toughest challenge yet, and it's one that they might not win.
05: Shadow Of Light
This is part 2. The Trinity are gone, Alisha, Nuada and Feurety are on their own, with the Earth plunged into darkness. Belial is on a rampage, and only one person can stop the destruction. But what will it cost to save the world?
06: The Darkness Betrayed
This story is a trip back in time, and tells the tale of Feurety, and the events of 2000 years ago. It documents the war that happened the first time Belial was in power, and answers the questions on Feurety's past.
07: Moments Of Change
This story is the true coming-of-age tale, with the Trinity facing up to and accepting who they are. This was written at a bad point in my life, so it has some very dark moments in it. Adrian has a mental breakdown, Harmony seems distant from everyone, and Luke is doubting his abilities as a leader. So many little moments leading to who they will become in the future.
08: Wedding Bell Blues
I think the title says it all here. This story contains weddings. Luke and Jaid tie the knot in a tale of mind-breaking time zone issues. Alisha and Nuada perform an ancient Celtic handfasting ceremony. Harmony and Adrian have their own little commitment moment. Deep down, I'm a sucker for the romantic.
09: The Future Eternal
Enter the Bratlings. This story introduces us to Andraya (Adrian and Harm's daughter) and Tyler (Luke and Jaid's son), who are teenaged gods out to cause trouble. Yet when their latest stunt ends with their powers taken away as punishment, Andraya soon finds herself thrown into the mortal world of high school and public transportation; things she knows nothing about. But there's a light on the horizon: Kyle. Can he help get her through the nightmare that is mortal life?
10: Darkness And Light
Bratlings the second. This story introduces us to Rian (Andraya and Tyler's son) and the twins, Imogen and Bryant (Alisha and Nuada's kids), and explores the difficulties in being an all-powerful teenaged god. Rian is in training with the spirits of Light and Darkness to one day take over their roles, but in the meantime he is still a mistake-prone 15 year old boy. When an accidental trip back in time causes the Trinity to have never become immortal, its up to Rian to put things right again. But the question is: were the Trinity better off as mortals?
11: The Mortal Fate
Rian discovers a young woman who can jump between different immortal worlds as easily as taking a step. And she isn't even aware of what she's doing. Whilst unraveling this mystery, Rian ends up learning more about Chinese mythology, reincarnation, and the pain and hardships that can accompany a mortal life. What is the truth behind the amnesiatic young woman, and how will she change Rian's life?
So far I have written five short stories set within the Trinity world. Links can be found in my Short Stories section. Here are summaries for each of the stories!
01: Andraya And Cerberus
Adrian has been left to babysit his toddler daughter, but he's not doing too good a job of it. She goes missing, and when he finally manages to track her down, he discovers that she has made a rather large new friend that happens to have three heads.
02: The Piper's Call
Rian has a question that he wants answered, regarding the immortal ability of planting suggestions, and seemingly hypnotising mortal people into making them do things they wouldn't normally. The ability is known as the Piper's Call, but why? The ability has existed for millennia, so why was its name changed when the Pied Piper became well known?
03: Beware, It's Smut
This was written as part of a collaberation with my best friend, who drew me some nice smutty pictures of my favourite couples. In return, I wrote her smutty stories to go with them. Couples are Alisha/Nuada, Luke/Jaid and Adrian/Harmony, and the pictures that were drawn are also in my gallery.
04: Grand Theft Deception
Andraya and Tyler have both got their license, and they are on the hunt for cars. Of course, they won't settle for anything but the best, and acquiring the cars of their dreams involves a well thought-out plan that relies on Andy's cunning and Tyler's perceptive abilities to achieve their goals. But will they get away with it?
05: The Scarlet Crown
Imogen has been seeing a knight of the Unseelie Sidhe court, and seeing as she is half Sidhe herself (and of the nobel Aes Sidhe at that) the Queen of Air and Darkness doesn't approve. In fact, she feels like the young goddess is trying to steal away her most prised knight! So, she hatches a plan to blackmail Imogen by capturing her twin brother, Bryant, and making her choose - The knight that she's attracted to, or the brother that she adores? But Bryant has a plan of his own, and it's one that Imogen's not going to like.
